If you’re an aspiring young rural entrepreneur, we’re putting our money where our mouth is, and investing in you.  Focus your passion and prepare a stellar pitch to compete for business coaching and support, and ultimately, an investment to start your business with $25,000 in cash!

Have you got what it takes? Competing for the ultimate business investment has never been easier, here’s the lowdown:

      1. Come up with a stellar, 3 minute elevator speech describing your rural business idea. Make it unique and wow the judges with your creativity.
      2. Register for the competition using the online form found on this site.
      3. Make your way to the Bashaw Agricultural Grounds on August 10, 2011 to compete in the preliminarie, or qualifying pitches will be accepted via Skype. It’s only 3 minutes, so be bold and go for it!
      4. Should you manage to impress the judges with your amazing presentation and idea, plan on sticking around for the rest of the afternoon for your second chance to pitch. It’s now or never, lay it all on the line to be one of the six finalists!
      5. If you are one of the lucky finalists, prepare for some hard work and mentorship over the next three months, developing your business plan with the help of experts in your field.
      6. September is the halfway point…keep on working and attend the check in and networking day with the judges to show your progress.
      7. November brings the finals, the culmination of your hard work, you’ve put in the effort and now it’s time to reap the rewards. It’s off to Northlands in Edmonton, during Farmfair week, where you will pitch for the final time, with your eye on glory and a $25,000 cash prize!

So register now, what have you got to lose?
